Attorney MARGARET A. MCLEAN is a legal thriller author and adjunct law professor at Boston College's Carroll School of Management, specializing in business and constitutional law. Her legal thriller, Under Fire, features an arson and murder trial and will be published in June of 2011 by Tor Forge Macmillan. Her second novel, Under Oath, will be published in April 2012. She has co-written a dramatic courtroom play, based on her second novel, which is in development with the Producers and Directors Unit at the Actor's Studio in New York City.   

Ms. McLean was born in Rome, New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College, and received the Scholar of the College Award for her novel based on Feodor Dostoevsky.  She earned her law degree from Boston College Law School, and practiced law as an Essex County Assistant District Attorney in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Ms. McLean prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases including drug distribution, arson, domestic violence, rape, burglary, and armed assault with intent to murder. She supervised the juvenile gang unit.

Ms. McLean practiced law as a civil litigation attorney for the Hanover Insurance Company, trying cases involving serious bodily injury, product liability, and insurance fraud in the state and federal court systems.

Serving as the President of Mystery Writers of America, New England Chapter, Ms. McLean shares her legal expertise with the writing community. She is a member of MWA's National Board of Directors.  Ms. McLean co-chaired the 2010 and 2011 New England Crime Bake Writer's Conferences, and wil be co-chairing again in 2012. She also volunteers in Boston's inner city schools teaching creative writing through Write Boston.

Ms. McLean is the co-host of a popular weekly radio show with Coach Ron Tunick on KKZZ 1400 in the Los Angeles area and on internet radio. They discuss current events, business, law, and politics. Margaret lives in Norwell, Massachusetts with her three children, Sarah, Dave, and Kate.  She enjoys tennis, skiing, and windsurfing.
